The Story Behind This Page
I built this Spinner Wheel out of a personal need for fairness and efficiency. In my previous career as a programmer, I often faced a paradox of choice when naming things—variables, functions, or files. I usually had too many good ideas and couldn’t decide which one to use. My low-tech solution was writing options on a piece of paper and spinning a pen on my desk.
However, I realized that a digital tool could offer much more. I wanted the ability to weight certain options more heavily and the option to spin “blind” to remove any lingering bias.
Beyond professional use, I noticed how often “insignificant” decisions in daily life—like where to eat dinner or which movie to watch on a weekend—could drain our time and energy, sometimes even leading to family arguments. I wanted to create a Random Wheel that could settle these disputes instantly and fairly. By letting the wheel decide, we can stop arguing and start enjoying the time we spend together.

Does the content I enter get saved to a server?
Absolutely not. Your privacy is a priority. Everything you enter into the wheel exists only in your local browser’s session storage and is never uploaded to any backend. The entire process runs locally and is cleared once you close the page.
I have a lot of options. Is there a faster way to enter them?
